Silhouette Matching Game
ShadowMatchV shows a coloured shape and four silhouettes, and asks which outline belongs to it. From level three the silhouettes are rotated, and from level six they are rescaled as well.
How to play ShadowMatchV
- A coloured shape appears at the top of the screen.
- Four silhouettes appear below it. Exactly one is its outline.
- Pick the match. From level 3 the silhouettes are rotated; from level 6 they are also rescaled.
- Answering quickly scores more.
- You have three lives.
How scoring works
Points per round scale with how quickly you answer, and the wrong options get progressively closer to the true outline as you climb, so late levels are worth more because the discrimination is genuinely finer. Three wrong answers end the run. Every shape is generated by the app itself, so no two runs present the same set.
Three ways to score better
- Compare one distinctive feature — a notch, a point, a flat edge — rather than the whole outline.
- Once rotation starts, mentally rotate the original rather than the four options. It is one rotation instead of four.
- Speed scores, but a life is worth more than the time bonus. Slow down when the outlines converge.
Common questions
Are the shapes the same every time?
No. Every shape is generated by the app at run time, so the same silhouettes never come round twice.
When does rotation start?
At level 3. Rescaling is added at level 6, so from there a silhouette can be both turned and resized relative to the original.
How many mistakes can I make?
Three. The run ends on the third wrong answer.
