Speed Sorting Game
SpeedSortV drops items in front of you and asks which of two buckets they belong to. The catch is that the rule changes every few items, and the buckets swap sides when it does.
How to play SpeedSortV
- An item appears between two labelled buckets.
- Tap the bucket it belongs to.
- Every few items the rule changes — food and animals might become even and odd.
- The two buckets also swap sides when the rule changes, so the labels have to be read.
- Sort as many as you can in sixty seconds.
How scoring works
You score per correct sort within the sixty seconds, and consecutive correct answers build a multiplier that makes an unbroken run worth substantially more. A wrong answer costs two seconds off the clock and breaks the multiplier, so the penalty is larger than it first appears.
Three ways to score better
- Read the bucket labels after every rule change. Sorting from muscle memory is exactly what the side swap is designed to punish.
- Protect the multiplier. One careful second beats a wrong answer that costs two plus the streak.
- The rule change is announced. Use that moment to reset rather than pushing through it.
Common questions
Why do the buckets move?
To stop you memorising a position instead of reading a label. Swapping sides at each rule change forces you to re-read rather than react.
What does a wrong answer cost?
Two seconds off the clock, plus your consecutive-correct multiplier, which is usually the bigger loss.
How long is a run?
Sixty seconds, minus any time lost to wrong answers.
