Kharcha (खर्चा — your spending) is a simple expense tracker and budget planner built for India that runs entirely in your browser. Add what you spend and earn in rupees (₹), set a monthly budget, and Kharcha shows you a clean breakdown of where your money is going — by category, with a donut chart, progress bar and quick insights.
The most important thing first: your data never leaves your device. Every transaction, note and budget is saved only in this browser's local storage. There is no account, no server and no cloud — we genuinely cannot see your money.

Frequently asked questions
Is Kharcha free and private?
Yes. Kharcha is completely free and works without an account. Every transaction, note and budget you enter is stored only in your browser on your device and is never uploaded to any server.
Does my data sync across devices?
No — and that is by design for privacy. Because everything is stored locally on one device, opening Kharcha on another phone or browser will start fresh. You can export a CSV to keep your own backup.
How does the budget work?
Enter a monthly budget and Kharcha compares it to what you have spent this month. The bar stays green below 80%, turns amber from 80% to 100%, and turns red with an over-budget note once you cross your limit.
Can I edit or delete an entry?
Yes. Every transaction has an edit (pencil) and a delete button on the right. Editing opens the entry in the form at the top, where you can change the amount, category, date, note and payment mode.
How do I get a PDF report?
Tap the PDF button on the Transactions card. Kharcha builds a clean, print-friendly monthly report — totals, category breakdown and the full transaction table — and opens your browser's print dialog, where you can choose "Save as PDF".
Can I use it offline and install it?
Yes. You can add Kharcha to your home screen and open it like an app, and it keeps working offline because everything runs on your device.
