Cyber Safety Quiz

PasswordDetectiveV puts you in ten short everyday situations — a message, a link, a call, a login screen — and asks for the safest response. There is no timer, because thinking it through is the point.

How to play PasswordDetectiveV

  1. Pick a topic, or play the mixed set across all nine.
  2. A short scenario appears with several possible responses.
  3. Choose the safest one. Take as long as you need — nothing is timed.
  4. Read the explanation, which covers why the tempting wrong options are tempting.
  5. Ten scenarios make a round.

How scoring works

One point per correct answer out of ten, with no time component at all. The explanation is shown for every scenario regardless of whether you got it right, and covers not just the correct answer but why the plausible wrong ones fail — which is usually the more useful half.

Common questions

Will I be asked for a real password?

Never. Every scenario is fictional, you are never asked for a real password or any personal detail, and nothing you type is stored or sent anywhere.

What topics does it cover?

Nine: passwords, phishing, links, OTPs, public Wi-Fi, app permissions, fake support calls, QR scams and social engineering.

Is the advice practical?

It is defensive and general — how to recognise a scam and what to do instead. It is not security training and does not cover attacking anything.

More challenges

PasswordDetectiveV is one of 25 challenges in ChallengeV, part of Apps by V. It runs entirely in your browser, works offline once loaded, needs no signup, and keeps your scores on your own device rather than on a server. Everything here is for entertainment — it is not a test or an assessment of any kind.
